Super Bowl LV meets solar energy – smart charging stations for fans

Lumos SolarZone allows visitors to charge phones and laptops under stylish solar canopies – sustainable energy in the heart of sports.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs meet in Florida on February 7 for Super Bowl LV. The game will be a true giant showdown where Kansas City's quarterback Mahomes – last Super Bowl's most valuable player – will face Tampa Bay's 43-year-old veteran and six-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, whom many consider the best player in American football ever.

Despite limited attendance, it's good news for fans that this year's game is happening. For those on site, there is now an opportunity to recharge – literally – thanks to Lumos Solar having installed twelve stylish SolarZone benches with solar canopies.

Smart seating with solar energy

Under a canopy of solar panels, visitors can sit down, charge laptops via 110V outlets, surf the net, or wirelessly charge their phones directly on the table. SolarZone is the smartest bench you've ever used!

The canopy's six solar panels provide up to 1800 Wp – enough to keep charges going all day. The table has four wireless charging pads and four 110V AC outlets for laptops. Four integrated benches are discreetly spaced to allow for work and social distancing.

Flexible and self-sufficient

Since the energy source is the sun, SolarZone requires no connection to the grid and can be placed where it is most needed – without groundwork or foundations.

Lighting and control

In the evening, four LED strips illuminate the benches. Thanks to the battery bank, charging continues even after dark. The lighting schedule is automatically controlled via the Streetlight function, which follows sunrise and sunset, and can be easily adjusted via Bluetooth.
