New LightHouse 3.6 update – Axiom MFD brings drone technology onboard

Raymarine delivers a groundbreaking innovation in marine electronics: with the latest LightHouse 3.6 OS update, Axiom users can now take to the skies. The new Axiom UAV app combines the power and simplicity of Raymarine's navigation system with advanced unmanned aerial photography technology.

Compatible with the popular and high-performance DJI Mavic Pro drone, the app automates many common tasks – including takeoff, aerial photography, navigation, and return to the boat. Both fishing boats and recreational boats benefit greatly from having this airborne imaging platform integrated onboard.

Virtual Tuna Tower

Launch the Mavic Pro and use its camera system to scout for fish in front of the boat. With an optional polarized filter, the drone's 4K UHD camera can detect predatory fish, baitfish, kelp lines, sandbanks, and reefs – a technique that gives smaller boats advantages previously reserved for larger and more expensive vessels.

Capture the Moment

Film when the big fish is landed! With Axiom UAV's Fish-On function, you can instantly launch the drone, start recording video, and automatically have the camera circle the boat. Smooth on-screen controls let you adjust altitude, radius, speed, and camera angle directly from your Raymarine Axiom or Axiom Pro.

Bird's-Eye View on the Big Screen

Free the drone from the mobile screen and view images on your Raymarine Axiom or Axiom Pro MFD. Record video, take still images, and easily save everything to the Mavic Pro's memory card.

Explore with UAV Goto

Fly to points of interest, waypoints, or map positions. With the UAV GOTO command on your Axiom plotter, you send the drone on a mission. Thanks to GPS navigation, the Mavic Pro flies to the exact selected location and hovers there – while you see the drone's course, speed, altitude, and camera direction on the map.

Automatic and Manual Flight Modes

The Axiom UAV app offers several control options, including an automatic "Return to Boat" function. In addition, virtual joysticks are available on screen for manual control, and you can always take over with DJI's own remote control.

Axiom UAV is a free update for Axiom, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL. The LightHouse 3.6 update can be downloaded directly to Wi-Fi-enabled MFD units or via Raymarine's website.
