How to configure AIS700 via USB and PROAIS2: download software, enter MMSI, and verify settings.
This blog post covers Raymarine AIS700 (v1.17 and later) and PROAIS2 (v1.24.02 and later). Please note that you will need a fully wired USB cable (not included with the product). A plain USB charging cable will not work for data communication.
Before using your AIS700 for the first time, you must configure it with the PROAIS2 software via a PC connected to the USB port.

Download PROAIS2 here. The software is compatible with Windows 7/10/11 and Mac OS Big Sur.

Step-by-step guide to programming AIS700
- Connect AIS700 to the computer: Connect the device via USB and wait for the driver to install (takes about 10–20 seconds).

- Start PROAIS2: Open the program and select the COM port assigned to the AIS700. Click Connect.

- Enter MMSI and vessel information: Fill in MMSI, vessel name, call sign, and vessel type. If possible, enter the GPS receiver's position. Click Write Configuration to save.

- Verify configuration: Disconnect and reconnect to ensure the settings have been saved.

Important installation tips
- Always use a quality USB cable that is fully wired for data transfer.
- Disconnect the Power/NMEA cable before connecting the AIS700 to the computer – the USB port provides power.
- Ensure you have the latest version of PROAIS2 for compatibility.
