GlobalLink 520 – New firmware v2.06 with BLE sensors and support for custom SIM cards

Victron Energy launches update that provides more connectivity options, support for RuuviTag, and local SIM customization for optimal remote monitoring.

In July, Victron Energy launched firmware version 2.06 for GlobalLink 520. The update includes new features that make the device even more valuable for remote monitoring of Victron installations.

What is GlobalLink 520?

GlobalLink 520 connects your Victron system to the Victron Remote Management (VRM) platform via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or VE.Direct. You can monitor battery voltage, charge status, and historical data wherever you are. VRM is free to use.

The device uses LTE-M (Cat-M1) and comes with a pre-installed SIM card that works for at least 5 years – without subscription or installation.

New feature: BLE Instant Readout

With Instant Readout, you can read the status from up to 12 smart devices via BLE – a major upgrade from the previous 2 devices via VE.Direct.

You can now replace the pre-installed SIM card with a local SIM that supports LTE-M (Cat-M1). APN and PIN settings are made via the VictronConnect app.
