CP370 compatibility with older products and how to downgrade the software
Digital Skipper |14/01, 2025

With the release of CP370 software (v20.0 application / v18.00 platform) or the latest software versions, legacy MFDs such as E-Classic, C-Wide, E-Wide, or G-Series are no longer compatible. Therefore, if you connect a new CP370 running the latest software, it will not communicate with these legacy MFDs.
Summary:
To make the CP370 compatible with an E-Classic, C-Wide, E-Wide, or G-Series MFD, we recommend downgrading the CP370 back to v13.34 application / v15.02 platform. Unfortunately, because the CP370 has no communication with the legacy MFDs, you cannot downgrade it using one of these older displays. To downgrade, you will need an AXIOM MFD running v3.14.88 (or higher).
Important Note: Countries affected by PSTI regulations (such as the UK) do not allow devices to be downgraded to software versions lower than v21.03.35.
Procedure:
- Download the "Downgrade .ISO" file for CP370 from https://flir.box.com/shared/static/kiil7mc1ykl88hy6hnl97m7ky6qryo8k.zip.
- Unzip the downloaded file and copy the .ISO file onto a MicroSD card, which should be formatted to FAT32. Note that the CP370.ISO file is under 50MB in size.
- Connect the CP370 (running v20.0 application / v18.00 platform or higher) to a transducer.
- Connect the CP370 via Raynet to an AXIOM LightHouse v3.14.88 (or higher) multifunction display.
- Power up the AXIOM and CP370 simultaneously.
- Open a full-screen SONAR app on the AXIOM and open the side menu from the right.
- Select the transducer before entering any SONAR menus if you haven't done so already.
- Enter the settings menu (three cogs at the bottom) and select the "Sounder" tab.
- Click "Reset sounder" and confirm any prompts that appear.
- Insert the MicroSD card into the AXIOM card reader (Slot 1).
- From the home screen, select "Settings" and then click "Update Software."
- Click "Check SD card."
- Click on the CP370 option in the list. It will ask you to confirm that you want to install older software (v13.34) - click Yes.
- Start the downgrade process.
- Once the downgrade is complete, power down both the CP370 and AXIOM and disconnect the CP370 from the AXIOM.
- Connect the CP370 to the legacy MFD system (e.g., E-Wide) via SeaTalkHS and check that it is working as expected.
- Remember to enter any required depth offsets and select the correct transducer type.
