Noa Noa, a private island in the Philippines, offers exclusive stays for those seeking total relaxation. The Philippines consists of 7,641 islands – and some of the most beautiful are in Palawan, a narrow archipelago of islands and islets in the western part of the country. Quiet white beaches meet crystal clear waters where corals are visible beneath the surface. On Noa Noa, you stay in traditionally inspired houses with space for a maximum of 12 guests in six modern, luxuriously furnished suites.

The island lacks connection to the electricity grid, making a reliable private energy system crucial to offering guests the comfort they expect.
Noa Noa's old system has now been replaced. Previously, the backup generators had to work hard – which cost money and created noise.
JK Solar Powerhouse in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, has installed a new off-grid system with Victron Energy technology.
The old solar panels (6.6 kWp) have been replaced by 72 new panels with a total output of 28.8 kWp. The unusual roof area required careful planning. Mark Apdon from JK Solar Powerhouse used Google Earth and AutoCAD to create a layout that maximized the area – with a precision of only 50 mm from the actual roof size.

The Victron system is programmable and works seamlessly with third-party equipment. The generators are integrated and start/stop automatically based on battery charge status or low voltage. Everything is controlled via Color Control GX and can be monitored and programmed remotely via the VRM portal – completely free of charge.
After one year, the generators have only needed to supply 4% of the total energy consumption – proof of the system's efficiency.
