VictronConnect v5.26 – Why is the charger off?

The latest version of VictronConnect provides better diagnostics and clearer status information. Here we explain why the charger might be off, common causes, and how to easily fix the problem.

Today we are launching VictronConnect v5.26 with a long-awaited feature: MPPT off reason. It shows exactly why your solar charger is not charging – something that previously required extensive troubleshooting and contact with technicians.

Now you get clear information directly in the app. In many cases, this is completely normal, and the app assures you that you don't need to worry. If a fault is suspected, you will receive tips on what to check.

Common reasons for charging to stop

A common reason is that the PV voltage has not reached 5 V above the battery voltage, which is required to start charging. This is normal in the morning, evening, or night. But it can also indicate incorrect sizing – for example, too few panels in series. Watch our video for more info.

Another common reason is that the charger has been turned off by the BMS when the battery is full – completely normal and nothing to worry about.

How to find the information

The information is displayed at the bottom of VictronConnect. Here is an example:
