VICTRON ENERGY PMP481800000, MultiPlus is a powerful pure sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger that includes adaptive charging technology and a high-speed AC transfer switch, in a compact enclosure.
Parallel operation or three-phase capability
Up to six Multi units can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power. In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for three-phase output.
PowerControl - Managing limited generator, shore, or grid power
With the Multi Control Panel, a maximum generator or shore current can be set. MultiPlus will then take into account other AC loads and use any extra current for charging, preventing the generator or shore power from being overloaded.
PowerAssist - Boosting the capacity of shore or generator power
This function takes the principle of PowerControl to a new dimension. It allows MultiPlus to extend the capacity of the alternative source. Since peak power is often only required for a limited period, MultiPlus will ensure that insufficient shore or generator power is immediately compensated with power from the battery. When the load decreases, the excess current is used to recharge the battery.
Adaptive four-stage charger and dual battery bank charging
The main output provides powerful charging to the battery system using advanced and adaptive charging software. The software fine-tunes the automatic three-stage process to suit the battery's condition and adds a fourth stage for longer periods of float charging. The adaptive charging process is described in more detail in
the Charger datasheet and on our website, under Technical Information. In addition, MultiPlus charges a second battery using a separate maintenance charge intended for the main engine or generator's starter battery.
High starting power
Required to start loads with high inrush current such as power converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps, or electric tools.
Search mode
When search mode is activated, power consumption during no-load operation is reduced by approximately 70%. In this mode, the Multi switches off when operating in inverter mode, in the event of no load or very low load, and switches on every two seconds for a short period. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter will continue to operate. If not, the inverter will switch off again.
Programmable relay
By default, the programmable relay is set as an alarm relay, i.e., the relay will be de-energized in the event of an alarm or pre-alarm (the inverter is almost too hot, the ripple voltage on the input is almost too high, the battery voltage is almost too low).

After installation, MultiPlus is ready for use. Some settings can be changed with DIP switches. 500/800/1200 VA models: remote switch / battery charging voltage / inverter frequency / search mode. 1600/2000 VA models: battery charging voltage / search mode. Use VEConfig or VE.Bus Smart dongle for more settings.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Cerbo GX or another GX product to connect to the internet. Operating data can be stored and displayed on our remote management website VRM (Victron Remote Management), which
is also free. When connected to the internet, systems can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed.
