VICTRON ENERGY SKY012070100, A powerful, waterproof, and intelligent battery charger with an adaptable seven-step charging algorithm. The Victron Energy Skylla-IP65 is suitable for a wide range of battery types and chemical compositions and includes a dedicated lithium-ion charging algorithm. The wide universal input voltage provides flexibility to the installation, and the charger maintains its full output power regardless of its location in the world. The IP65 rating makes this charger particularly suitable for marine, mobile, and industrial applications, and it withstands harsh weather conditions such as heat, humidity, and salt air.

Skylla-IP65 (1+1): two outputs for charging 2 battery banks
The Skylla-IP65 (+1) is equipped with 2 isolated outputs. The second output, which is limited to approximately 3 A and has a slightly lower output voltage, is intended for charging a starter battery.

Skylla-IP65 (3): three full outputs for charging 3 battery banks
The Skylla-IP65 (3) is equipped with 3 isolated outputs. All outputs deliver full rated current.

IP65 protection
Splash-proof casing covered with steel epoxy powder. Withstands harsh environments: heat, humidity, and salt air. The circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Temperature sensors ensure that the power components always operate within specified limits, if necessary with automatic reduction of output current under extreme environmental conditions.

LCD display
For status monitoring and to easily adapt the charging algorithm to a specific battery and its usage conditions.

CAN-bus interface (NMEA2000)
To connect to a CAN-bus network, to a Skyll-i control panel, or to the Color Control digital display.

Synchronized parallel operation
Multiple chargers can be connected in parallel and synchronized using the CAN-bus interface. This is achieved by connecting the chargers with RJ45 UTP cables.

Correct amount of charge for a lead-acid battery: Variable absorption time
When only minor discharges occur, the absorption time is kept short to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure the battery is fully charged.

Prevent damage due to excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode
If a high charging current in combination with a high absorption voltage has been selected to quickly charge a battery, the Skylla-IP65 will prevent damage caused by excessive gas evolution by automatically limiting the rate of voltage increase as soon as the gassing voltage has been reached.

Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: Storage mode
Storage mode is always activated when the battery has not been subjected to discharge for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for 24 V batteries) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive electrode plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to 'refresh' the battery. This function prevents stratification of the electrolyte and sulfation, one of the main causes of premature battery failure.

To increase battery life: Temperature compensation
Each Skylla-IP65 comes with a battery temperature sensor. When connected, the charging voltage will automatically decrease with increasing battery temperature. This function is particularly recommended for sealed lead-acid batteries and/or when larger fluctuations in battery temperature are expected.

Battery voltage sense
To compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance, the Skylla-IP65 is equipped with a voltage sense function so that the battery always receives the correct charging voltage.

Use as a power supply
Thanks to its excellent circuit control, the Skylla-IP-44 can be used as a power supply with perfectly stable output voltage if no batteries or large buffer capacitors are available.

Lithium-ion prepared (LiFePO4)
A simple on-off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or open collector output from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote control port of the charger. You can also achieve full control over voltage and current by connecting to the CAN-bus port.
