Protected against misuse
A lead-acid battery will prematurely fail due to sulfation:
A lithium-ion battery does not need to be fully charged. Its service life is even improved if it is partially charged instead of fully charged. This is a major advantage of a lithium-ion battery compared to a lead-acid battery. SuperPack batteries will shut off the charging or discharging current when maximum capacities are exceeded.
Efficient
In several applications (especially off-grid solar and/or wind installations), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance. The round-trip efficiency (discharge from 100% to 0% and back to 100% charge) of the average lead-acid battery is 80%. The equivalent for a lithium-ion battery is 92%. The charging process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient once an 80% state of charge has been reached, resulting in 50% efficiency or even less in solar systems where several days of reserve energy are required (battery used in 70% to 100% charged state). In contrast, a lithium-ion battery will still achieve 90% efficiency even under shallow discharge conditions.
Can be connected in parallel
The batteries can be connected in parallel. Series connection is not permitted. Must only be used in an upright position.
