STANDARD HORIZON HX890E-BLACK, is a floating 6 Watt Class H DSC handheld VHF with GPS, loaded with a host of interesting features. The model is available in Black and Navy Blue.
DSC (Digital Selective Calling) ITU-R M.493 Class-H function
HX890E has full DSC functions that make it possible to transmit your exact location and identification information when you press the emergency alert button on the radio. (requires GPS enabled and portable MMSI number entered).
Floats with a water activated emergency light
HX890E floats face up and is waterproof to the IPX-8 standard which is 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. When the radio falls into the water, an emergency light is automatically activated, even when the unit is turned off.
The light can be reprogrammed to flash on and off, flash SOS, or be set to stay on continuously.
Integrated 66-channel WAAS GPS receiver
A highly sensitive 66-channel GPS receiver allows the HX890 to be locked into a position quickly and accurately. When position information is shown on the display, the user will be able to share position information with the DSC and navigate to points using the radio's navigation.
Navigation Points and Route Navigation
HX890E can store up to 250 points and 20 routes (with a maximum of 30 points per route). The navigation screen clearly shows the distance and direction to the destination and the waypoint is indicated by a dot on the compass graphic.
User-friendly menu system
Forget trying to memorize the owner's manual. An all-new icon menu system makes this the most intuitive handheld on the market. DSC call, position sharing, waypoint and route navigation, navigation to DSC distress call can all be done with just a few simple steps.
GM (Group Monitor) with DSC Group Position Call< br>This advanced feature allows you to continuously track and display position information for up to 9 pre-selected vessels. Their position information is displayed on the compass page relative to your location on the screen.
Built-in FM broadcast band reception
The HX890E has an extended receiver that allows the user to tune in their favorite FM -radio station. The radio receives FM broadcast bands between 76 MHz and 108 MHz.
Large dot matrix display
The HX890E has one of the largest displays in a handheld VHF radio. It measures 43mm in width, 43mm in height and 58mm diagonally. With a large screen, high resolution screen (dotmatrix) and a super bright backlight, you will not miss the information displayed on the radio day or night.
