Raymarine Follow on Tiller Controllers are compact additional rudder controllers with precise servo control for Evolution autopilots for powerboats.

Remote control and Pilot control
The Raymarine Follow-On Tiller control unit provides power steering to remote and secondary control stations anywhere on board. The Follow-On Tiller is a simple add-on control unit for Raymarine’s Evolution autopilot system and is designed for yachts/recreational boats and commercial vessels. A simple push of a button is all that is needed to activate the Evolution’s power steering and the navigator can send precise steering commands, up to 35°.

Power steering options
Follow On Tiller controllers come in 2 different models with slightly different operating modes.

  • Select the Standby-Power Steering-Standby variant (A80532) for applications where you want remote control without activating or deactivating the autopilot. Pressing the enable button on the tiller control enables Power Steering of the autopilot in standby mode and provides full control over rudder movement. Pressing the enable button returns the autopilot to standby mode.

  • Select the Auto-Power Steer-Auto (A80602) variant to make course adjustments under autopilot control. Pressing the enable button changes the autopilot status from automatic mode (enabled) to power steering mode, giving the captain manual control over rudder movement. Pressing the enable button returns the autopilot to Auto mode.

Two operating modes
The controller supports both Follow-Up and Non-Follow-Up modes for maximum flexibility. The control comes with a spring that automatically returns the control to the center position of 0° when released. The return spring can be removed if desired. In Follow-Up mode, the rudder follows the tiller exactly. When the tiller is released or set to 0°, the rudder is set to midship. In Non-Follow-Up mode, the rudder remains at the angle set when the controller is released or set to 0° and requires the operator to manually correct to midship.
