Offering 5 star accommodation in remote locations requires a lot of discreet work behind the scenes.
Kambaku River Sands Safari Lodge is an unfenced holiday resort offering direct access to the natural habitat of the Leopard, Lion, Rhinoceros, Elephant and Buffalo – whilst at the same time pampering guests with luxurious accommodation, world class cuisine, and even wine tastings.
This level of customer service must be underpinned by a reliable electricity supply – which can be challenging in remote locations, particularly in South Africa where poor electricity infrastructure and the difficulties of meeting energy demand is ‘managed’ by recoursing to scheduled power outages.
Fortunately there are alternatives to grid energy provision: To solve the problem of silent reliable energy Kambaku River Sands called in local experts in power solutions Current Automation – who designed and built a tailor-made power unit offering a whopping 135kVA. The factory-built 3-phase Hybrid energy system comprises:
- 9 x Quattro 15kVA Inverter/Chargers
- 3 x AC coupled Fronius Inverters
- 24 x SmartSolar MPPT 150/100 Solar Charge Controllers
- A Cerbo GX – together with a GX Touch 50 takes care of system control an offers remote monitoring and intervention
- 200kWp solar panels
- 6 x 100kWh Lithium Battery storage
Current Automation have 25 years of experience in providing mobile and static energy solutions to industry and the domestic market. They envisage growing demand for their new factory built turnkey power solution – particularly because of the difficulties associated with running a business in South Africa where the inconvenience of power outages are overlaid on top of a track record of unreliable power supply.
In order to showcase the many features of their product Current Automation commissioned a video summarising the key features of their product:
The great advantage of a factory built solution to clients’ power needs is that it offers quick installation of a major infrastructure – whilst causing minimal interruption to business operations.
It allows hospitality businesses – like Kambaku River Sands – independence from the vagaries of the power grid in order to offer quality service to discerning guests – no ‘ifs’ no ‘buts’, just great service.
So if you’d like to treat yourself to world-class cuisine and specialist wine tastings; to dine alfresco or in the game reserve – by the riverbed surrounded by camp fires; you know someone who has invested in your comfort!
